Curriculum
All of our actions in school are informed by our guiding principles that form the ‘Pennoweth DNA’.
Our curriculum is no exception to this and is planned and delivered within the framework created by the guiding principles. We firmly believe that to be in the best place to progress, children need to feel safe, loved and able to take responsibility for their own learning. We also know that vocabulary is the key to unlocking communication and work to ensure that children know the importance and power of their words.
For more information, please see our subject curriculum pages.
In the first half of the Summer 2 half term, we will be developing as Geographers and Scientists (and Historians in year 5/6!) through our projects:
Year 1/2 – Splendid Skies
Year 3/4 – Misty Mountain Sierra
Year 5/6 – Hola Mexico
Please see our parent information leaflets (below) for more information. The leaflets give a brief overview of our topic and some specific key facts and vocabulary that the children will be learning so you can discuss these at home. We have also included some suggestions for home learning to help prepare the children for the topic and / or consolidate their knowledge. Please do encourage your children to bring their home learning into school so that we can share it with the class and celebrate their achievements
